The Artist I am an Aruban author and poet currently residing in the Netherlands. In 2005 I published my first book of poetry entitled "Beyond Insanity." Five years later, in December of 2010 I published my second book of poetry entitled "Spiel di mi Alma," (Mirror of my Soul) this time in my native language of Papiamento. For the year of 2012, I have created an Art Calendar entitled Wholism; each month features an illustration by 12 different artists accompanied by a short poem written by myself. Next to my own publications, I continue to engage in various collaborative pieces and performances.
My work usually explores topics and aspects of life I myself do not understand. Meditation and achieving sporadic moments of zero state brings about inspiration clarifying the blur. By receiving inspiration to subsequently produce, I educate myself. This is the reason I always say it is my inspiration that inspires me. With every work of art, I become more curious as to what the truth of the following moment will become. By refraining myself from fanatical closure, I practice flexibility. The goal of course is to transform sporadic inspiration into sustained awareness.
